DEI HIGHLIGHTS
DEI has been a big focus in Sachin’s career, long before it became popular to talk about. As a result, his ideas have often been ahead of the curve and led to visionary work. See below for highlights.
Content Strategy & Editorial Launches
In 2019—ahead of 2020’s social justice movement—Sachin conceptualized Highsnobiety’s first year-long editorial series, an impactful franchise on identity and representation in street and youth culture. The editorial series was the first of its kind in the street culture market and led to sales and partnerships with consumer brands.
Podcasts
Sachin co-created, wrote, and hosted Fashioning Identity, a podcast that examines the intersection between fashion and marginalized groups. From gender to sexuality to race and more, Sachin shines a light on underprivileged voices in culture. He speaks to some of the most influential people in the industry, including Ben Gorham, Ian Isiah, Bobby Hundreds, Noor Tagouri, Kelly Cutrone, and many more. The series ranked in the Top 50 fashion podcasts on Apple.
Brand, Content, & Multicultural Marketing
Sachin has worked with global consumer brands and media companies to build content that authentically positions them in various communities. For example, he worked on the launch of We're Out Here, a new, year-round travel vertical for Thrillist (Vox Media), sponsored by Orbitz. The franchise featured city pride guides, profiles, and travel resources for the LGBTQ+ community and allies.
Internal Communications
Sachin has worked with global companies on supporting internal communications and DEI initiatives. This includes collaborating with Leadership, HR, and employees to amplify diverse voices internally and to embed DEI best practices across the business. His projects have included leading employee resource groups, producing annual DEI reports, writing and reviewing DEI materials for C-level executives, and more.
Writing
Sachin has written for various publications, including Vogue, Highsnobiety, and NYC Tourism, discussing identity and the experiences of diverse cultures and communities.
Speaking Engagements
Sachin has spoken at various events, from panels to moderating DEI-related talks. For example, he hosted American Eagle’s New York City Pride activation, an in-store Q&A with Jennie Livingston—the director of Paris Is Burning and a contributing director of Pose—discussing identity, self-expression, and ball culture.
